Welcome to the RHODI Project Blog

October 17, 2012 by rhodiproject2012

Welcome to the Rhode Island Historical Society’s Rhode Island Online History Directory Initiative (RHODI) Project blog. I’m Timothy Wade, Project Coordinator. We have a great team working on the RHODI Project, and over the next few weeks I’ll be introducing each of them.

The RHODI Project’s goal is to create an online database of all of the historical and heritage organizations in the state of Rhode Island. It is hoped that by creating an accurate directory of these organizations the RIHS can help foster a stronger sense of community, increase fundraising for individual organizations, and most importantly increase widespread public awareness of the historical and heritage organizations.

The purpose of this blog is to share information on progress with the Project, interesting tidbits of information, and provide another avenue for dialogue between the Project, the citizens of Rhode Island, and the members of the history and heritage world. I look forward to the next twelve months of work with the RHODI Project, so please stay tuned!

If this is a blog – is there a way to get RSS feeds to I learn about new posts without having to search for them? You might also post on Housing Our History – a national community on Facebook for house museums and community-based historical orgs https://www.facebook.com/HousingOurHistory?fref=ts
